Come along to the Conmurra crop walk on the 29th of October! We have a great line up of speakers discussing local trials and important issues in the area.
We will visit the Conmurra NVT site, managed by Kalyx, where Darcy Moore (Kalyx) will talk about the trials and recently released varieties. We’ll also visit Longreach Plant Breeders’ trial site, to see new and emerging varieties trialled in the local environment.
Amanda Pearce (SARDI) will be on hand to cover the MFMG’s wheat trials, including winter wheats and nitrogen management, and we’ll also hear from Dan Valter (AGT, MFMG Silver Sponsor) who will provide some handy insight into their new varieties entering the market this season.
Rob Alexander (Incitec Pivot, MFMG Silver Sponsor) will show us their trial on nitrogen in winter wheats, and we’ll also hear from Chris Preston (University of Adelaide) on new pre-emergents, weed management and ryegrass management. Mel Fraser (PIRSA Rural Solutions) will give us a rundown on the impact of windrowing on annual ryegrass seed capture and current sandy soils research.
We’ll also have guest Kat Furhmann (FAR Australia) giving us a rundown on Net Form Net Blotch management in Planet barley and SDHI resistance, with learnings from the Hyper Yielding Crops trial site at Millicent.
MFMG’s own Flic Turner will give an update on MFMG’s soil moisture probe network and the outlook for the rest of the season, and Mark Edwards (Murray Nankivell, MFMG Bronze Sponsor) will give you tips on protecting your business when selling hay and grain privately.
A reminder that our events in 2020 are COVID safe, and that all relevant restrictions will be enforced. It’s vital that you register to attend, in order to keep in line with COVID restrictions and requirements.
We hope to see you there!
